On these pages I hope to provide some background to a few of the activities seen in Tales from the Green Valley. The information is gathered from a number of different sources, including books, museums, the internet and historical artefacts. During my year in the Valley I spent some time researching the different projects we undertook, and what follows forms the core of the results. It is by no means comprehensive however, and I would urge anybody interested in these topics to follow up by reading in full some of the texts mentioned.
